Results of ANAT Activity for the year 2018
Year 2018 turned to be very efficient for the Union of Business Entities ”National Association of Tourism Legal Agents of Moldova, however we think that the year 2019 will be richer in events. Here we’ll try to describe some of the most valuable events of the year 2018 we managed to accomplish:
In March 2018 ANAT Association actively participated at Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure sessions on elaboration of a new law on tourism of RM. Later ANAT Association managed to organize a number of working sessions with touristic sector of the Republic of Moldova. We familiarized the economic agents with the White Book on the reform of RM regulative normative framework of RM tourism industry that contains, in our opinion, efficient measures and proposals that can eliminated gaps existing in our current legislation in the field of tourism.
ANAT Association being supported by the tourism sector of RM is for transparency in tourism and believes that introduction of financial guarantee, indicated in the Directive EU 2015/2302, is a mandatory procedure. Tourism sector is almost unregulated; there are plenty of gaps in legislation. There is no Tourism Registry, which, taking into account technologies constant modernization, shall be introduced in the form of a soft and managed by a coherent competent institution. We don’t have the official site of our country to promote Moldovan tourism at different international events.
ANAT Union with the help of the tourism sector shall continue its work on improvement of legislative framework in the domain. We want correct and coherent tourism legislation and we believe that one of the first steps made in this direction was inclusion of our Association in the membership of Economic Counsel under the RM Prime-minister. This platform allows all its members to alert on problems they do confront with and it is an opportunity for ANAT to use it efficiently for promotion and improvement of tourism sector of RM.
In March 2018 ANAT Association together with its members and partners has represented the Republic of Moldova at MITT-2018, tourism exposition in Moscow. Moldova was represented by the speaker, Mrs. Anna Colta, ANAT President who offered impressive arguments on why to visit the Republic of Moldova.
This exposition created premises for organization of a Press tour organized by ANAT for journalists from Russia and Belorussia. Thus, in the period of April 17th till April 20th journalists and bloggers form Russia and Belorussia visited the Republic of Moldova and got acquainted with its attractions, touristic routes, culture, and national food. Results were fascinating – more than 50 articles on enormous tourism potential of the Republic of Moldova.
In autumn, from September 6th till September 7th, Moldova hosted the III UNWTO Global Conference on Wine Tourism. More than 200 visitors from 60 countries, 5 continents, including the local participants from wine and tourism sector were present at this Conference. Main event organizers were Moldovan Investment Agency, National Office of Vine and Wine in collaboration with Moldova Competitiveness Project finance by USAID and Sweden Government who support this development in our country. The first and the second edition of the Conference took place in Georgia and Argentina.
We are proud to see for the first time the Panel of Tourism included in agenda of Moldo-Russian Economic Forum that took place during September 20th till September 22nd in Chisinau. The Event included discussions within 7 panels. ANAT Association was present at this important event, Mrs, Colta, ANAT President being one of the speakers of the Panel “Developing tourism”.
The most important economic event of the year 2018 “Moldova Business Week” took place in Chisinau during November 27th till November 29th. The Vth edition was organized by the Moldovan Government, main organizer being the Moldovan Investment Agency. The main event objective was promotion of our country’s image for attraction of investments under the new country brand #GrowinMoldova.
We are proud to see for the first time Tourism Panel in agenda of this event which took place during the second day of “Business Week Moldova” under the name “Moldova – your next destination” #BEOURGUEST. ANAT Association was honored to present its vision on opportunities of E-tourism development in the Republic of Moldova.
On October 30, ANAT Association managed to realize the most important project of the year. With the help of Avia Invest Company and Moldovan Investment Agency, at Chisinau International Airport was opened its first Tourist information bureau – TOURIST Information. Now any visitor can address to the bureau and get answers for any questions on tourism issues and get the free touristic map of Chisinau and Moldova in three languages – Romanian, English and Russian. Work of the bureau was organized due to active implication of ANAT members and partners: BESTMoldova, Stil Tur, Assorti Grup, Q Tur, Vinăria Purcari, Castel Mimi, Condor Turism, Corina, Cricova-Vin și Winetours Moldova. We are proud that only after 2 month from the lauch of the present project we obtained first result that confirm the efficiency of the bureau. Still the projects needs additional financing. Launch of a new direct flight by the Belorussian air Company “Belavia” – Minsk-Chisinau – Minsk and fruitful collaboration with Moldovan Investment Agency, Avia Invest Company and Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Moldova brought use rich results. At early December 2018 ANAT Association with its strategic partners has organized Informational Tour in Moldova for Belorussian delegation. In the period from December 11th till December 14th 2018 more than 20 participants representing the most notorious touristic companies, Mass Media sources and officials from Belorussia visited main attractions, touristic itineraries and the most famous wineries of Moldova. We received more than 20 articles and TV programs links on touristic potential of the Republic of Moldova and representatives of Moldovan touristic companies exchanged their experience with their counterparts from Belarus and made first steps on inclusion of Moldovan touristic product in offers of Belorussian touristic companies.
Year 2018 has ended with a beautiful event in the atmosphere of winter holidays. Thanks to Moldovan Investment Agency that decided to promote RM tourism sector at Christmas Fair 2019, ANAT Association together with its members and partners promoted touristic offers in a beautiful Christmas house. It was cold but the atmosphere of magic Christmas Village was warming us.
Yeah, year 2018 was rich in events! However we remind that ANAT Association is a nonprofit organization and we need financing for realization of our goals and objectives on promotion of Moldovan tourism.
