The most important economic event of the year 2018, Moldova Business Week, took place in Chisinau during 27-29 November. The scope of event was the promotion of the country’s image for attraction of investments under the recently developed country brand #GrowinMoldova”. i
It’s a great honor for us that this time the event agenda included Tourism Panel that took place during the second day of the Conference being entitled ”Moldova – our next destination” #BEOURGUEST. The Panel Moderator, Mrs. Rodica Verbeniuc, director general of the Moldovan Investment Agency, has opened the discussions with an emotional message stating the necessity of creation of a public-private partnership for a better promotion of the country and for an efficient RM tourism potential development. Mr. Thomas Alveteg, First Secretary of Embassy of Sweden in Moldova, proceeded with his warm welcome remarks. Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of RM, Mr. Chiril Gaburici has continued the idea on promotion with his short message accompanied with an interesting video on promotion of RM incoming tourism.
Panel speakers, Mrs. Dna Diana Lazar, Deputy Director of Moldova Competitiveness Project funded by USAID and Sweden Government, Mrs. Natalia Turcanu, ANTRIM Executive Director, Mrs. Elena Scobiala, Project coordinator of Moldova Ecologist movement, Mrs. Natalia Curnic, Go Adventure, surprised the audience with their interesting presentations on sustainable development of Moldova tourist industry showing some examples of success stories.
We shall also underline the importance of the international experience shared by the guest speakers, and namely by Mr. Peter Kraft, director Kraft&Associates (ex-Secretary of State in tourism of Hungary), Mrs. Maia Sidamonidze, Travel and Tourism Committee Chairman – ICC Georgia, Mrs. Diana Isac, founder of Winerist UK. Guest speakers supported that Moldova has an enormous tourism potential that should be developed basing on international practices.
ANAT Association had as well the honor to present its vision on Moldovan tourism E-development opportunities. Mrs. Anna Colta, ANAT President, spoke about the necessity of smart tools in tourism development such as E-register of tourism where all economic agents activating in tourism field shall be registered, not limiting to the latter. Such an up-to-date instrument shall make possible to maintain online connection with RM tourism 24 h. a day. E-Register shall create new opportunities, all objects being placed automatically on the interactive online Map (Smart City or Smart Region Map) showing all destinations, touristic route, attractions etc. of the Republic of Moldova. It’s important to have such instruments nowadays, i.e. in the epoch of digitalization.
Hereby, the ANAT Association thanks all the organizers of this event, and namely the Government of the RM, Moldovan Investment Agency, Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure as well as all the participants of the Tourism Panel. We are sure that only in the frame of public-private partnership we can achieve efficient results in promotion of the Republic of Moldova as a country with enormous tourism potential.
